Although my car mileage (approx 72000) is low I decided to use Carbon clean 2 months ago..

The mechanic warned me the engine will lose oil the first 1-2 weeks..

That did not happen..But the engine become more silent and smooth..

Another option is sound shock instruments what I have used on my fathers car ...Was also effective..

For preventive reasons injector cleaners are good I think. But strong deposits are hard to move..

you could try putting some acertone(needs to be 100% not nail varnish remover) in it, its £2 for 500 ml from any good chemist and you want to add 1-2ml per litre of fuel start with the higher strenth for the 1st few tanks then drop to the lower strength, ive been using it in my omega and my motorbike for the last 6 months and its great better mpg, lower emmissons (measeured at the last mot with and without) and the engine is very quite on both car and bike, i stripped down the throttle body on the omega a few weeks ago and its clean as a whistle where as before using it it was cacked in crap

Do people keep stopping you though and asking for your beautician services....  Sorry ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Acetone will break down most petro chemically produced mediums, carb cleaners and the likes are full of things like this and Xylene...  So yes, I think, good move this one.. ..

I am all for it.  I add Techron gas additive every oil change and run a oil cleaner of the same company.  In that much time (5-7000mi) with sythentic and the cleaners it MAKES a difference in my car. :y
