121 fault code
« on: 14 July 2007, 10:13:47 »

Hello All,

I have got problems with the Omega again :(

Yesterday it has started running rough, stalling on idle (feels like it is missing a cylinder or two).

I replaced all plugs and leads resently so I doubt its that, the cam covers too, so I have checked the plugs and there is no sign of oil.

I have done the paper clip test and there is a 121 code. "Oxygen sensor 2 Lean exhaust, weak mixture".

Is there any common things I should check here?

Cheers

Damon

Don't know what the fault code means, but have you cleaned the breathers and throttle body lately?

Means that bank is running too lean. Or the sensor is fubar.

For just one bank lean, I would initially consider the possibility of the sensor....

Thanks..

Well things have turned for the worse with this car. I dont know quite what to do and if its worth repairing, (annoying after spending a lot replacing all the wishbones, drop links, steering idler, tyres to get it through the MOT)..

The engine has developed a loud tapping, feels rough (as above) but worse, and is blowing a bit of oil through the breather system..
