Big help please
« on: 19 July 2007, 18:26:32 »

Yesterday, got new exhaust (centre sections), had the plenum off to do breather box seals and broke the rear multiram.

Today, running very bad, when pulling off it putters with very little power this is right through the range at revs below 3000rpm. Once past 3000 it is ok. Would no rear multiram alone cause this? Please help, I don't want to do anything else to it as everytime I do something else happens which is worse than the original problem.  :'( :'( :'(

No air leak, it is just the connector. Forget the 3000rpm it is right through the revs.

So rephrase, just with the rear multiram not connected are these symptoms correct?

With rear multiram not working, power will be down, but not that drastic...

Multi ram now ruled out as i've swapped it for the air injection one. The exhaust that i had fitted yesterday is kinda ticking on driver's side, centre box. there was also  some water around the seams of the centre box. i took it back and was told to give it a couple of days to settle down  :D So could a faulty centre box cause the above issues?

multiram won't cause it to run bad.

Stick a latex glove on the tailpipe, and see how fast it inflates it!

You and your latex gloves lol. I'm beginning to think you have a fetish lol.  Shall I just let it go until it goes bang?

Done that, it was about 3 seconds until it went bang. I blipped the throttle lightly and the centre box is popping, sounds really bubbly and a bit rattly.

ack to your exhaust place if you think its not right - third opinion.

so what have you done today work wise? Lets see if we can narrow this power loss down?

Nothing today, except swap the soleniod valve for the multiram with the one for the air injection. This was done after the problems to try to rectify, but no difference.

Yesterday, just sealed the breather box with latex glove rim until I get parts 2moro. Only major change is the exhaust.

Ok update on this. All seems well when cold, symptoms of missing appear after 10 minutes of driving and get progressively worse. I seem to have oil leaking on the passenger side at the back end of the manifold heat shield. Could this be the gasket leaking a bit (that i've just changed) and could this cause the missing once warm?

I am desperate  to get this sorted before Tuesday.
