A question of balance
« on: 22 July 2007, 23:45:06 »

No not the album by the moody blues, but its my wheels, when i first got my car there was a vibration at speed so I got the front ones balanced. It didnt help that much & now when I go over 70 ( on private land) yea right, theres a whole lotta shakin going on, like ive got square wheels till I go over 95. I'm wondering if it's the back wheels? :(

Generally, wobble on steering wheel is fronts, shaking through car is rear.

However, and out of round wheel will cause the shake, whether on front or rear...

I have slight vibration through the car,can feel it through the seat, all wheels have been checked for being oval, all ok and tyres balanced.could poss be the rubber doughnut on the propellor shaft,.NOT that expensive to buy or too diff to fit. :y

Possible that propshaft is out of balance.

Far more likely that the tyre place did a poor job of balancing though...

Yes I think the wheel balance was a bit Mickey Mouse, my wheels are alloys & they used the crimp on weights >:(, might have to take it to Thik Fit if I can trust them to do it right :-/
