Had a nasty surprise this morning going to work
I went to brake and nothing happened as I pressed the peddle I had no servo assistance lucily work is only a short distance and it was 0545 so not busy. Had a look under the bonnet at break time to look for anything obvious then remembered a post I had seen about the vac pipe having a hole in it. I felt along the pipe and found a hole had worn through it it was about six inches back from the connector on the engine it had obviously been rubbing against a bracket on the bulkhead . I have taped up the hole for now until I can get to dealers to get a new one. By the way any one know how much this is and how much of the pipe has to be replaced. What else would this have been affecting it must have been leaking for a while
You have a dealer in Bicester now, give them a call. If too expensive, try a scrappy. Lots of things rely on the vac - multirams, HBV, brake servo, heatering (depending on type)....
