Exhaust noise
« on: 26 July 2007, 01:00:11 »

Right, got my manifold to downpipe fixed again, this time they did a better job (removed the whole drivers side and adjusted the angle of the connecting joint) now have no leaking sound whatsoever from that area...........
But, and isnt there always a 'but' I now have a sound that I can only describe as a leaking manifold sound, but around the cat area of the n/s exhaust, while the car was up in the air, the sound wasnt there unless the car had some load put on the engine, but no leaks anywhere along the whole system and no evidence of soot to indicate a leak. Its truly a pain in the backside now, I can only hear the noise rebound off passing walls or parked cars when the car is accelerating 1/4 to full throttle and definatly seems to be from the n/s cat area - i've heard baffles rattle when they are shot, and this sounds nothing like it.
 Anyone had similar sounds?

The passenger side exhaust is genuine (its this side making the noise) and the drivers side is aftermarket.
