Was having a look at the Steering Column bolts to see if they were tight and was stumpted when the left hand side had no nut just some funny round thing. The Right Hand Side Does have a normal Nut

Is this Normal ?

Someone must of removed a steering column or have a haynes manual

Thats correct, the left hand bolt has a shear head as a security measure. Centre punch then drill off the head, use a large drill, 10mm say, and the head should come off without damaging the threads.
Have you spotted the other mounting bolt about half way down the column?

I was wanting to lossen the bolts off and try something i have read something on the darkside that mark wrote.

Interestingly TIS actualy states a remedy for this condition....

Complaint - Noises and Vibrations, sqeeking noises under cold and wet weather conditions.

Cause - Tension on steering column

Solution - relieve the stress on the steering column by loosening and re-fastening the tube attachment screws.

So basicaly what Vauxhall are saying is remove your steering column shroud and open the fuse box cover, slacken off the securing bolts that hold the main column outer tube (normaly two at the top - one is normaly a sheer type so may not be able to slacken and one at the bottom of the tube). Then rotate the steering from stop to stop twice and re-fasten.

Stud on the RH
Captive nut on LH
Captive nut on middle

You will need a replacement bolt and can order a shear bolt from Vx but a 8.8 quality hex head will do....just use the washer off the old bolt and enlarge the hole through it slightly with a file.
(If a tea leaf has gained sufficient access to be removing your steering column then the absence of a shear bolt is a bit irrelevant)
