« on: 18 August 2007, 22:33:51 »

:-/hi to all out there well ive come to fit my new cambelt on my 2l and im a bit lost as to the timing markings on the cams
there are two notches on each cam wheel one with a triangle under it the other is just as stright notch
which on is the one to line up with the cut out on the cam cover back plate as they dont seem to line up when i set the crank pully up with its pointer this is with the old belt still on
i hope this makes sence

and to top the day its rained all sodding day until i was packing up the tools

Hi there prr
I cant remember which of the markings I used on the cams to do mine, but only one set will line up with the crankshaft mark. So when you line up the cam marks check to see if the crank lines up with the cutout marker, if not then line up the other cam markings and thin re-check the crank.
I hope this helps.
Lyn.

use a locking tool to keep the cams in place.
