BREATHERS AND OIL
« on: 26 August 2007, 08:57:50 »

Well following my trip to scotland the other week and the problems with the oil check light, cleaned the breathers last weekend took it for a couple hundred mile run yesterday and lights did'nt come on, checked the oil level before I left yesterday and again today same level.

Also stuck some lifter treatment into the engine the other week.

So i am assuming the breathers may have been linked to the oil problem, as it seems OK now, will obvioulsy find out how true this may be when go to the meet next weekend, get another decent run in.

Thats reassuring.  We can clear the fault codes again, and see what comes back - may have been oil getting up into combustion chamber as breathers blocked (?) getting the lamdas all upset?

Thats a known problem area for Carltons, Breathers and pipe work need cleaning occasionally. Has been known to blow oil out of the oil filler spout as well.
