Histarting problem
« on: 28 August 2007, 17:03:42 »

Hi - 1999 V6 2.5

Cold starting in the morning - engine turns over then dies. Second turn over causes a bump noise from somewhere under the bonnet and then it starts as sweet as anything - no problems starting for the rest of the day. Any ideas? - i'm thinking starter motor - though its just that first start of the day.

Just had it back from garage when i had to have new coil, HT leads and cam gasket seals (£760!!!)
so hope this new problem is not major.

Leaking injector flooding engine?  To prove, try turning over with foot hard to floor (this switches off injectors during cranking), crank for 5s, then try to start normally.
