Clicking Noise
« on: 16 September 2007, 23:04:23 »

Does anyone know how bad or easy a job it is to remove and refit the injection rail and all other items on it. I have a clickng noise from the injection rail (certain its not the tappets) and Im guessing that its an air leak.

Any ideas anyone?

On holiday next week so figured I would order the seals this week from vx and have a go myself next week.

I know nothing .. but I've read quite a lot ... :)

And if I recall correctly, the cam cover gasket replacement involves removing the fuel rail ... so by only doing half of this :

you should be OK  :)

An expert will pass by shortly and correct all my errors . :)

Yes, injector rail is easy to replace. Like already said just follow some of the above guide ;) Ask in parts wanted for a 2nd hand set.

Just to note that all injectors make a slight ticking noise.

The noise is there all the time, as if something hasnt been sealed properly.

P.S the instructions above are for a V6, surely these are not the same for a 2.0l

Guessing by the sad face that the instructions are not the same, so it looks like I will be relying on the dreaded haynes manual. It never actually states what you need to know  :-/
