Part Numbers etc
« on: 21 September 2007, 21:02:13 »

Help! I'm after the part numbers for:-

Waterpump for a V6 3.2 (I'm guessing that it's the same one for all V6's)
Idler assembly (The part that MDTM re-packed with grease in the Cambelt change DVD)

Also, what's the recomendation for new ATF? Use VX's own Dexron III or is there something better?

Thanks.  :y

Vx ATF Dexron III is as good as any other, only problem is it's not available on TC so relatively costly at around £7 per 1L 'normal' trade price.

I remember someone saying there was a good offer at Halfords, around £15 or £20 for 5L, but failing that you could consider Fuchs from Opie Oils, first class manufacturer not very well known in the UK.

Check: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/performance_lubricants/fuchs.aspx

and scroll down to Titan ATF 4000, £25.49 for 5L Dexron III

(ignore the Titan 3000 which is Dexron II)

They also come highly recommended by mark DTM - need I say more?  ;)

..and remember that you are not really 'changing' the ATF, more like 'reviving' it, since you can get only about half of it out. And unlike with the coolant, repeated flushing is not an option....  :(

...and don't forget the filter from www.jpat.co.uk ! and the gasket kit / or liquid gasket sealant... and the drain plug washer....

If I continue one of the admins will move this post to 'maintenance Guides'  ::)

Mark did mention to me about the DexIII but I couldn't remember what he recomended, I know AutoBahnstormers have a trade login for Opie Oils now so will investigate the cost.

Water pump is same for all V6, sadly not available on TC? The Vx P/N I have is 93170697, but I also found this:
