Garages in Lincolnshire ????
« on: 25 September 2007, 19:45:09 »

Hey there fellow Omega brothers!!

Does anyone know a decent garage in the Lincolnshire area. I need someone to stop an oil leak which I think is the cam gasket seals. The symptoms are :

1 - Hot oily smell
2 - Oil on floor under car
3- Traces of oil in the plug wells.

I think its either the cam seals / rocker seals and I think the breather needs a clean
Who could do this job for me in the Lincolnshire area??
Cheers on advance

I`ll be the first of many to say...

Have a search of the site, absorb the info, ask the questions you need to ask and do it yourself. Also saves you a fortune  :)

Im sure we will also have some members in your area to assist if you get stuck  ;)

oh and yes it does sound like you have diagnosed correctly, two pieces of advice

1/ genuine vx parts only
2/ do both of them

What he said .. plus .. ensure the breather system is cleaned at the same time, if not they'll just blow again.

Maintenance guides for both jobs .... which I will be following soon ..once the low-range torque wrench gets here ...

You could try Vauxcare on Allenby Road Industrial Est. Not used them myself but just about to go up there to run a diagnostic to get to the bottom of my 'no hot air' from the air-con problem!

What's more they're 2mins from Charles Warner so you can pick up the bits easily too.

My V6 was serviced last year by Stamp End Garage, Lincoln (01522 542225).  It runs like a dream so I'm guessing they know what they're doing.

It was the last owner who had it done but he kept the receipts and it looks like they don't charge over the odds either.
