i have completely messed my lights up
have replaced the dipped beam bulbs no problem
CANNOT even get my hand down to remove main beam bulbs
and now where i have tried to wiggle the bulbs free, all my headlight fixtures are shot and wonky
i just need them to be put back in place AFTER i have replaced the main beam bulbs and also changed the little side light bulbs
WHY the hell are Omegas such a complete pain in the ass to do a simple task?
theres never any space to get your hands down anywhere without having to take a billion screws out!
or is it because Vauxhall want you to spend an hours labour on a bloody bulb change
i was told that Volkswagon charge £50 for headlight bulb changes!!!


my car is also stinking of burning againi only done 61800 miles in my car, and about 5000 in 6 years!
the things hardly been used!

Oh dear   At a completely wild guess.....not the cam cover gaskets is it??

Dunno why peeps have trouble changing headlight bulbs on Omegas...... :-/
Its easy   I never remove anything excect the plastic covers above the units.....unless you count the odd bit off skin

I just looked in, and followed....  Maintenance Guides .... Removing An Omega headlight

think it only took me about 15 mins to change all 6 bulbs and put back together, good and helpful these maintenance guides.

BUGGER ME!!
i did look at the maintenance guide section, but didnt find that!
i best go to specsavers  

i did exactly as stated in the previous post anyway, i got it sorted in the end

can i ask all of you, when you pull the whole headlamp out their sockets
(i actually unplugged the whole thing on both sides)
as you look at the light, the inner sections inside the headlamp are not flush
they move around internally!!! is this normal or should they not move at all inside?
are mine knackered? i almost had a heart attack!
after taking the whole light out of each of their sockets, if you look inside where you replace the bulbs, the insides of the light are not tightly fitted, they wobble about inside......dont know if any of you know what i mean?

just been out in my car and the full beam is AMAZING!

unfortunately my normal lights are TERRIBLE
even worse than before, infact i think theres something wrong somewhere
i seem to be able to see a "square" shape on the road in front of me, and now i have hardly ANY projection unlike before
im gonna now have to take my car to Vauxhall and get them to re-align everything or fix them or something?
all because i wanted to Upgrade my damm bulbs!

Wayne just check something before you do this you may have a lever fitted inside the headlight this is to temp adjust for l/h drive driving you may have just knocked this . Or more likely you have installed the bulbs upside down try taking them out and seeing if they go in better in another position

Dropped my car off at Vauxhall today
got a phone call to say they could adjust my lights etc etc
cost is £39

didnt think that was too bad, then 30 minutes later thy rang back and said "theres a problem"
they now tell me that BOTH headlights internal guts are flapping about, they are NON repairable
the cost is £336 for 2 headlamps!!!!!

i am sat here dumbfounded, guess i wont be able to use my car

i give up !
pile of crap! sick to death of all these problems with my car, its never ending
used to think my car was reliable, parts are a ripoff, otherwise use cheap knockoffs and pay the price

Ouch, sorry to hear of your misfortune!
Wouldnt pay Vaux for new lights though at that price!

That link is for HID ones, so you are probably in for a ballache with those, no levelling, washers etc.
Ideally a set of projectors of a breaker would be easier.

possibly worth taking the headlight unit apart, the adjusters consist of a metal thread that screws into a plastic part which the back of the reflector then clips onto - over time the plastic part gets brittle and shatters ... I had that on one of the headlights on my old omega. Used superglue to hold the surfaces of the bits together, then epoxy resin around the outside to provide support - worked fine and a damn sight cheaper than new headlights

Got to agree with Jimbob, phone round your local breakers and see what they have. Obviously, you want your lights sorting asap, but I would'nt be hesitant and pay silly money. Just looking on the bay, if you consider replacing with new, here's a pair of new one's, offering one at (buy it now £47.95) but do have the pair. Good luck

i have no idea about "non genuine parts"
are they actually anygood or poor quality?
my headlights that are buggered look fantastic, but just dont work!  
dont want to get any that look cheapy

Someone on here bought some ages ago
They are for LHD cars, so the light output will be abysmal over here
Also a dodgy MOT point I beleive

The clear set read like they aer for facelift

I have just been playing with mine both my adjusters were broken, I have had the passenger side on to bits and i think I have managed to glue it back together not sure on adjustment though but it cant be that far out .drivers side i have just dropped some glue in through the hole where you get to the bulb on to the broken bit and it seems to be holding again it possibliy wont ever be able to be adjusted but they were not that bad anyway

cost me £108 inc vat and delivery, instead of Vauxhalls Price of £336 !!!!!!!!

i asked the guy "via telephone" IF they are for Left hand drive and he said NO they werent
he has POSITIVE feedback and i have already emailed another couple of buyers who bought the same product to get their responses, i await some replies tonight

the question is "non genuine" or "genuine" and HOW do the quality differ?
