Lights and MOT
« on: 23 September 2007, 16:22:43 »

HI
1998 Elite 2.5V6 Auto
Have xenon HIDs & all working OK.
Have fitted - 2 x xenon filled H7s to main beam, 2 x xenon filled H1s to fogs and 2 x xenon filled sidelight bulbs.  Lighting now excellent but a bit blue.  Any probs likely with MOT?

As long as the bulbs are 'E' marked and not labelled for show use only, they should be fine  :y

The MOT rules state that headlamps must be prodominently of white light...so as long as they don't look mainly blue then they should be fine. Just bare in mind that some testers are a little funny about this.

I just had mine MOT'd and have fitted aftermarket HID's...... They are of 6000K so quite distinctively blue but still passed. In hindsight 4500K (Whiter and Brighter) would be a better option, so will do so when i come to replace them. FYI
