I have an Omega 2.5 V6 facelift,  the brake pads have been recently changed, and the brakes have been checked and cleaned up,  but when you brake the steering wheel pulls sharply to the left, and then when you take your foot of the brake the steering wheel returns to normal.

Any suggestions on what the problem could be.

I would have said, grease or something like that on the offside disc, but you say they have been cleaned.

You could try a brake bleed, there may be air in the system.

I think theres a worn bush on the steering/suspension nearside......allowing the wheel to move to the left when the brakes applied....hence the pull to the left.

Jack it up and see if you can find play on any off the bushes.......you may need to lever them to spot excessive play

Contaminated brake pad or a very worn wishbone bush...

Test drove a 2.5td CD that had new discs/pads/short hoses. Gentle breaking fine. Harder breaking resulted in quite a violent pull to the left. It also had a slight "clonking" sound coming from the front left, even on the gentlest road ripples.  
The price was right so I bought it anyway. I've phaffed about with my 2.5td Elite for a few years and as the CD was from an area with loads of roundabouts, I was reasonably confident what the fault was.
 
Replacing both wishbones cured the pulling problem and replacing the drop-links cured the "clonk".

One thing to remember is to ensure the wishbone bolts are re-torqued with all  4 wheels taking the weight of the car or the bushes will fail real quick.

I'd say wishbone bush is a very strong possibility. A very common Omega failure.

Parts are £20 a side for a complete pattern wishbone.

You'll probably find the inside of your front tyre is wearing badly.

Could also be a sticking caliper on the right or a pad jammed in the caliper guides?

My money is on the wishbone espically if its clonking over most undulations.

Since this problem has only happened since you changed the pads, I would
agree with Kevin and look for a fault on the Right hand side brakes before
going down the suspension bush route.

It does sound, as you're pulling to left, that the Left brakes are working efficiently
and your Right brakes aren't.
