What make ECU

Does anyone know what type of ECU is fitted to a 2001 2.2 petrol  :question

Pretty sure Bosch Motronic 1.5.4

Yep, get one off ebay, they are about £30

You'll need a laptop with a REAL (Not USB adapted) COM/Serial port to use it..

If you need the software, it's a free (and legal) download...

Fair enough.. most generic ODB scanners should be fine for the 2.2..

Sorry, above info is wrong.  Its a Simtec. OBDII complaint ECUs also give 4 digit codes, not 2/3 of the older Motronics..

If you have access to TIS 2000, its in there :)

There is probably a list somewhere on the net.  Though OBDII codes are generally the same for all cars, with manufacturer specific extentions
