Omega Interiors - Sport or CDX?
« on: 08 October 2007, 16:04:03 »

Wise ones!

I'm looking to change my interior from it's basic plod like cloth appearance to something a little better.

I don't really want to go for a full leather, so am looking at the velour set. I've been contacted about a 2003 Sport model, so am looking for a little information about what the different trim levels are in CDX / Sport / etc.

The basic one I have currently, have a mere electric uppy/downy for ride height and thats all.

Any advice, as always, gratefully received!

IIRC I think its only the Elite leather that has the full electric adjustment and memory all the others have electric up and down adjustment.

That's ok then, I've found a (very) old thread on trim levels, and it looks like the MV6 are favourite if I can find an interior in decent condition (!)

Possibly Elite fabric/velour? Fabric was a no cost option for those that don't like cow.

They're fine with my 16 stone.  ;D Most of it is in front, though, and the seat belt's plenty long. Drink beer, that's the answer! [smiley=beer.gif]

I must admit I was set on an elite with leather seats and all the trimmings until I drove an MV6 and the seats were just so much more supportive I was happy to settle for a cloth MV6 interior. They are very comfortable. I had some very long days behind the wheel on holiday this year and no issues with comfort whatsoever. In every other car in which I've tried this my back has felt it.

Can't see any around in any breakers though, or ebay. Pah!
Now I know what I want/need I can't get it!  ;)

MV6 seats are the ones to go for, much better shape than all the others. Leather is all well and good, but the seats in the Elite are more suited for sitting in front of the TV than in a car. There's a reason the sports leather that was optional on the MV6 costs around three times more than the Elite leather on the used market, despite having less features.

All Elites, leather or cloth, are full leccy/memory. All others are leccy up/down only.

MV6 fronts a more sporty, and for most give better support. Some people find them uncomfy.

sports leather an Elite option, but you lose memory and mirrors.

sc804 doesn't support remote control

Yes, spot on.

For the new shape omega (2003 as suggested) the 'Sport' model is a 2.2 4cyl. The MV6 2.6 or 3.2. Sport not as common, though I do know of a guy with a sport estate  8-)

It has basically the same interior, recaro sports cloth trim and silver trim as suggested. Also has the sport suspension and xenon lights, just as an MV6.

Basically, YES the 'sport' model seats that you have been offered will do the job a treat and look the bizz  :y

Whilst we're on the subject I have to put a thumbs up to vauxhall and say that the Omega seats do wear particularly well and retain their comfyness. Our velour still comes up great after a valet with 130k on the clock. Similar ones on the bay look just as good.  :-?
