Hi all,

Back from S. France, 2088 miles in 9 days   8-)
Biggest problem I had was the Wanli tyres on the back letting go in the wet on random occasions  

To the real question - For a couple of days, the EML stayed on for much longer than normal after starting. It seemed to cure itself but I was wondering if an overnight thunderstorm or parking beside a large communications tower would have caused it?

Any thoughts?

Probably nothing to do with this ..... but..

I had intermittent EML light for a few days in France after filling up with some cr*p fuel in the back of beyond... paperclip test got a code 44..my daughter checked the computer at home (usefull things mobile phones!!) and it said "mixture lean". We filled up with super unleaded at just above 1/2 a tank and the problem went away ... has not returned since.

Wanli...They are the worst in all tests..Better get rid of them..

also good idea to check ECU codes for problems ..Whats the mileage..

I'm trying hard to wear those tyres out   But they were new when I bought the car and I'm not too flush with money

Looking the mileage I can say Crank sensor is on the way to go(even without problem) , besides France  have a hotter climate this also can effect the sensor or ECU itself for adaptation.But in your case I dont see something criticial than your tires  :-/

Tried that just now, it only flashed out 12 & 31 so nothing stored.

Car is running fine so no worries really, I was just curious about it.

It had a new crank sensor 3 weeks ago for the same reasons that cem_d. mentioned.

P.S.
It had a new crank sensor 3 weeks ago for the same reasons that cem_d. mentioned.

In that case, check batt voltage, esp during cranking...

Now I've got the time AND it's daylight, I've checked cranking voltage. It's between 10.7 and 10.9 Volts. Thats OK isn't it?

I bought my car with new Wanli's ftted o.k in the dry, but bl**dy lethel in the wet Got them changed under warrenty after a few weeks. The other downside with them is they last along time you could get over 20K out of them. That might be why there cr*p in the wet if the compound's too hard

Omega is heavy.Even in the dry with foot down on normal curves very easy to loose control with weak tires.

Before I had the same problem.. Good idea to stick to benchmark winners.
