as i said before, i am NOT a mechanic so have to PAY for work to be done, i been playing Piano and singing for 24 years, its all i know  

my village mechanic is no slouch, everybody in my village uses him, he`s honest and does a good job unlike some back streeters you can find  

i also looked under me car again today and i got bloody rust on the rear wheel arches aswell!
its not a lot but i wonder how much else can go bloody wrong, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Seriously, a good, trustworthy mech is not easy to find, sounds like you have a reasonable one there.  BUT, if you want a job doing properly, there is only one way to ensure that

I found two sirens under the bumper. Are both car alarm sirens/ horn? Which one should be disconnected and how will I know which is broken?
Where is the siren battery? I read in manual that “the alarm siren is monitoring the on-board voltage network” So, which one is it and where is that monitoring system and battery?
I think that in my case, the bonnet sensor is ok (it looks like new). There is no rust and it works fine.
I live in Reading. Does anybody know where the nearest TECH-2 is? I know that that the easiest way is go and ask the Vauxhall dealer, but I know that they want to charge 40 pounds just for deleting errors, without telling what the problem was (or is). I want to pay for a full TECH-2 service, including engine and all sensors check-up.
 
I found an invoice from Vauxhalla and it says:
“ Carried out TECH 2 test on alarm no trouble codes. Carry out F.O. data list check all O.K. Carry out actuator test on all items. Requires locking up over night. Checked for noise – no fault found. MM/12/VT.”  
I assume that there was a same problem in the past and wasn’t fixed. This invoice is for 38,48 pounds and I just don’t want to pay that amount for nothing…

No, those are the horns. Alarm horn and power sounder are under scuttle, drivers side.

Remove wipers and plastic trim under them (the scuttle). Right in the corner, under scuttle, drivers side is both the alarm horn and the alarm power sounder.

It was very helpful!! I found it under the plastic cover, but there is some more. There are two sirens!! One is round, metal one and second is sealed in a black plastic box (I will attach some photos later). I took the plastic thing out and dismantle it(with knife). I found two batteries and a lot of corrosion. There was a water inside too!!. I thought about buying batteries, but I found that lines on that green electronic just disappeared. It's all corroded so I will have to find new one.
And now, my question. Is this sealed box responsible just for low voltage alarm or for car alarm? If just for low voltage, then I can take it out and buy a new one later (maybe second hand). If it's an alarm siren then I have to buy a new one quickly...

As I said a number of times - the round one is the alarm horn, the black plastic box is the power sounder (for when the battery is disconnected).

Here's a question. At three thirty at night, when you're in your underpants on the driveway trying not to look at your neighbours as the power sounder blares its evil malevolence, how EXACTLY do you turn the $¬"%%!%$% thing off!!!

Anyone near Lancashire can urgently fix this for me!

Hi MATE,

Mine was the same.......it was the bonnet sensor.....i straightened the bracket up as it looked a little bit skewed and tries it again.
I think it might be the heat off the engine causes slight deviation in the metal bonnet as it is heated up and then when the car cools or the outside air temp drops right down the bonnet metal moves again slightly and hey presto the sensor just moves a fraction and alarm goes off.
