Dual Mass Fly Wheel - 2.5td
« on: 28 October 2007, 18:11:07 »

Has anyone changed the DMF on a 2.5td.
Is it a straight forward jobbie or a bit of a pig ?  Roughly how long should the job take and anything I need to watch out for ?  I've been advised LUK do a replacement. I have a mate in the Auto parts supply trade and he can get 'em for £180 (inc vat).

(If anyone else needs one, I work in the motorcycle accessories trade and can ship up to 30kg, anywhere mainland UK for £5.
It's only gonna work out about £20 cheaper than on Tinternet but as the saying goes "Every little helps").

box off, clutch off, flywheel off, supposed to use new bolts but i never have on doing them before and having done at least 8(not td but dualmass) without using new bolts and never had a breakage, would think it would be ok :y but be warned its easy to cach your fingers when you remove it cos they are damned heavy!!!

Cheers matey ?

Thanks for the warning too,  but I bet I still catch 'em. If the opportunity arises for one to jam ones digits, I'm there at the front of the queue, every bl**dy job !!
