Annoying radio adverts
« on: 27 September 2007, 10:56:45 »

Seems like we have a few new ones now.

Like quite a few people I listen in the car, but the last few weeks I have had CDs on more than normal, must remember to reset TA.

The worst is a squeaky girl going on about Iceland supermarket. The others I think are local, but do not let nasal singers do jingles >:(

Aaaaaahhhhhhggggg!!! That's bloody Kerry Katona. Have to switch the radio off  rapidly when that comes on - she has a voice worse than scraping nails on a blackboard - how on earth was she ever a singer?? :-?
God knows what possessed Iceland to pay her £1m (allegedly) for those ads - maybe it the annoyance factor. ::)

I have complained to both the local radio station and Iceland supermarkets, perhaps I should complain to the country as well :-/.

I think radio stations are losing listeners hand over fist on this, and also boycot the store.

With the sheer amount of commercial radio stations including digital broadcasting now the dilution of listeners must be immense, but still the stations seem to dedicate more and more time to adverts. I would have to think long and hard about dedicating advertising budget to radio ads. as I feel they would not be value for money or an efficient way to get a message across.

We have a good one on Real radio, it advertises cars for a company called trade centre Wales.
Spongebob most likely knows what I am on about, it a classic advert.

Good adverts work well - bad ones repel listeners
