After reading the other thread on here about pulling to the left i got me thinking why oh why is mine doing it

List of things do that it cant be as its new

Brand New Wish Bones both sides
Brand New Full Track Rods Both Sides
Brand New Top Mounts and bearnings Both Sides
Brand New Brake Discs and Pads Both Sides Of course
All Wheels Balanced when new tires put on.
Full Set Up By Wheels in Motion Tony
Brand New Rear Shocks Both Sides
Alloys checked with balancing Machine with no tires on and they were fine

Ill be tell Tony about it pulling to the left when i have my 2000 mile check up.

I am thinking this could be part why i have some vibration at most speeds

Anything else left it could be ?

My very first Omega L reg 2.0 CD manual did exactly the same, I did all the things you have done and had 4 wheel alignment checked, it still pulled to the left. I'd spent so much on it I gave up. However the first time I took that car to Spain, driving on the left, it took me an hour to realise it was driving true and straight. Camber of the road I suppose.

 Ah, of course. If you can get onto a runway or similar, give it a try. (Legally, obviously, don't just drive into Heathrow...)

If it was i would have to replace the front sub frame. I dont think its is even through i know the front bumper has been resprayed and i also think the rear left wheel side has also been resprayed, but i am 99 % sure the front wings are orignal no respraying.

I might have to look at the steering idler, but i know there is no up and down movment in it or side to side

Well she was pulling alot to the left on sunday is there any chance this could be the steering column ?

Oh and i was going to ask could a aniroll bar make an omega pull to either side if it was damaged or the bushes had worn.

Anyone ?

Craig ,if the anti roll bar is bent slightly then yes it will pull to the left/right dependent on the side that it is bent.

So i guess the quickest way to find out if it is the aniroll bar would be to disconnect it then and drive slowly to see if it still pulls ?

Could this also be worn Aniroll bar bushes ?

Yes mate, it allows the suspension leg to move back in the wheel arch slightly thus the steering pull.

Thanks Gary Ill disconnect the ani rollbar this weekend and give it a go, If it does not pull with it disconnected ill replace the bushes first as its the chaeper option to see if that fixes the problem if not it will be the whole bar.

Yes mate, it allows the suspension leg to move back in the wheel arch slightly thus the steering pull.

The susp leg is held by the lower arm.  I always was under the impression that the anti roll bar was for exactly that purpose - to prevent/reduce bodyroll as the suspension on one side loads/unloads.  As it has a link rod from the anti roll bar end to the lower arm the actual location effect of the strut in the wheel arch would be nil, imho.....

This Is a very good point Hotel.

If the Aniroll Bar was bent in anyway the drop links would move on their ball joints stopping the aniroll bar pushing or pulling the front suspention leg in any direction. I guess the left hand side drop link could be sezed ill disconnect them all (1) to check their condition and (2) see if it still pulls with the aniroll bar not connected to anything.

If Its not that ill have to check for crash damage as its always pulled to the left but it seems a lot worse lately. Ill check the sub frame and do some measuring to see if both sides are the same distance and lenth from the attaching bolts.

How hard would it be to replace the front sub frame if the worst came to the worst ?

Unlikely the link rods will be seized but easy for them to be loose in their sockets causing a 'clunk' noise when going over uneven surfaces.  Don't think this will cause any pull, unless arms are really done in which case the prob is the arms, not the link rods anyway...

Dunno about front subframe removal/replacement.  Never been in there looking to do such a thing...

If it's been to Tony I'm sure he would have noticed any alignment issue. If the subframe was out of shape or misaligned the angles would have been well out. Can you recall what castor / KPI measurements he ended up with?

I'd give him a call if you're concerned about it, TBH.

The only effect I can imagine the anti roll bar having is if it's twisted it could be loading one side of the suspension more than the other but if you undo one of the links and it doesn't go Boing! I don't think it's your problem, and I very much doubt it would twist because they are designed to be elastic in torsion.
