recoding remotes

can anyone tell me please the correct way of coding the remote locking handset to the car, drive vauxhall say the instructions are in the owners handbook which i dont have! the main one is starting to play up and the spare stopped working ages ago, mines the seperate fob to the key on a p reg 96 3.0 elite auto.

The book says,

Syncing Remotes

Switch on ignition to position 2 ,sync will be allowed for 30 secs.

Press either button on the remote within this time,  the central locking locks and unlocks to confirm...

This will only work with existing remotes... not new additional ones, they need a tech2 programming..

DC  Mines a 1999 Elite though...

same for all rf based ones (later 95 onwards)

Hi,

Thanks for the tip. My remote had stopped working after a weak battery replacement and syncing worked fine!
