Crank sensor
« on: 21 November 2007, 16:17:37 »

Having a problem with starting my pride and joy. Usually occurs after a short stop. Get the emissions/exhaust icon up on the dash - goes out after a few more starts. After reading several issues in this excellent forum I'm thinking on the lines of the crank sensor. Can you please advise on location etc and proceedure for the change of. Here's hoping that it is a quick and easy job as I will be doing it in the drive - Brrrrrr cold out there now!!!

Thanks for your help, in advance, guys.

Code 0340, according to my pet mech, this was from memory from the last time I had the prob. Couldn't do a recheck today as he has lent it out to a friend. If this is then correct can you please advise on the changing of the same.

Thanks all for your help

Cambelt cover, IIRC, needs to come off to get to the screw, so aux belt needs to come off...

Yep, aux belt off, cambelt cover off and spark plug cover off....remove the torx bolt between the two cam sprockets and pull the sensor up and out from the end of the cam cover spark plug recess......re-fit is reverse of removal.
