LAMDA/02 SENSORS
« on: 11 December 2007, 20:34:55 »

Well since July have had the EML light on, and despite being reset Big thanks to TB :y...has came back on, so I have now bit the bullet and ordered 4 sensors for the exhaust system from Vx, should have these on friday, and have them fitted if not at the weekend, by end of next week. Hopefully if TB 's not to busy have a trip up to reset the EML light  before chrimbo ::)

Have you had the code read to see if it is all 4 of the sensors playing up as meself and a few others on here have had the emission light on over the 02 sensors. Mine as been on and off and when checked told that it was the cats. Had the emission check and they where spot on as if the cats where new, he aslo checked the sensors where working ok and they where fine. All the other guys on here have had 3.2 v6 which have the same 02 set up as yours ie 2 pre cat and 2 post cat.

Hope that is of some help just  :y

Keep the old sensors so we can 'bath' them!

Mark

My plan is to replace the two post cat sensors (these seem to be the ones that are mis-reading) subject to doing some further diagnostics.

You are welcome to have the old sensors and give them a little bath then we could try them in someone elses car (perhaps SP's 3.2 as he is relatively close to me), be nice to crack this problem once and for all!

Would be good to get it sorted once and for all. As you say i think that it is the post  02 that play up as i belive they are the ones that have to swich beween rich and lean to keep the emmison right.

Has my light back on for part of last week. Had it checked and also clared at the same time had the emisson clecked by the mot place up the road and he told me that they cats where working as new.

will just have to see how it goes for now.
