Thank you all for your detailed answers just one final question what is the cost of fitting one in and by the way what will happen to my petrol tank?

it'll have petrol in it for longer :y

stay empty!!

On a serious note, it stays, nothing is changed, another filler cap is added, a tank for LPG is mounted in the boot, DONT get a donnut tank if you have a saloon.

My tank is a 100L depth charge tucked up tightly behind the back seats. I'll have to take a photo, its quite ominous looking.
I put £10 of petrol in once a month, for starting purposes and very short runs.

Occasionally i get the emissions light come on when on petrol, if i flick from petrol to gas and back again, it goes off.

What i'm really looking forward to is driving across france where LPG is cheaper than here.... sweeet.... ;D

You can get the parts for a DIY conversion, minus the tank, for that.

We are negotiating to buy a few kits discounted from a supplier at the moment, if you're interested.
