I thought as much . it is still a nice bus at 208, I do dislike being lied to though. it makes one wonder what else he lied about ?
I mean why would the filth wonna part for 280 bhp ? surely 200 is enough to catch a crim if you;ve got blue lights ...
did the cop's have different suspension ? or was that a porky pie also ?

cheers .

I'm sure these engines are capable of more with these ..

http://www.bishopsales.com/superchargers.html

problem is cost of supch and necessary proper engine mods for supch is very expensive..

Could be an innocent mistake but the fact that he's talking about a "Police spec engine" makes me think he's full of it.  :-X

It would need forced induction or steel internals, lots of revs and wild cams to get anywhere near that much power. Can't see the police being interested in either way.

As Kevin said... I never heard of such a thing, and while it is always possible that some obscure police force out there decided to tune the engine, if this is true it will be very very rare... so I would check this carefully before believing it.  Said that, Omegas are good car and if the price is right and the car is good than I would go for it even if it does not have a tuned engine....

decat full stainless chipped carbon shieled air filter 4bar pressure regulater ! dont know about torque as its auto hard to tell on rolling road !! but will spin in 1/2/3 in the wet so would imagine quite a bit !!  looking into turbo/supercharger next or poss just a wet nos kit !!  8-) 8-)

40bhp from exhaust, filter and chip  [smiley=shocked.gif]. did you buy the parts from halfords? lol

imho, tuning the 3.0l (unless u have a VERY thick wallet) is a waste of time. would need the block bored, liners, pistons and rods custom fabricated before you even started thinking about boost. also no1 makes any decent cams so they would have to be custom made, then with standalone management on top of that plus a supercharger/turbo, your talking big big bucks for what i would guess would be 400 horse at the most.

I agree. Of the few obviously weak parts on the V6 nobody seems to offer any tuning parts.

I'd like to try one on tubular exhaust manifolds for a start.

With most modern engines, if there's not an obviously bad intake system or exhaust system (bar the exhaust manifolds there's not on the V6 IMHO) you need to start porting the heads and changing cams to get more than perhaps 10% more power. For good emissions an engine needs to be designed for good swirl and airflow. That means small ports, valves, mild cams, etc. :'(
