Well, here is a question from the US mx6 driver.

Thought I had a timing belt issue but it turns out that my A/C clutch is mostly seized. I would like bypass the A/C compressor until spring when I can better get to it.

Does anybody know the size or belt # to use.

Looks to me from TIS that you simply fit the belt for the model without A/C .. let me know the engine type/number and I'll try and look it up for you

for my x25xe engine that would be 21.36 * 1900 mm and looks to be part number 91126386, but there are a couple of other part numbers (same size belt) that refer to alternator designations

Now I'm no expert with EPC or TIS so I'll wait for an adult to confirm my best guesses !!

You could always run a bit of string round all the pulleys and measure the length. That'll get you in the right ballpark.

It's a Cadillac Catera, 3.0 v6

We dont have part listings in the U.S. w/o the A/C (we need to be cool you know with global warming and all

Bypassing the A/C shoulnd't cause the belt to rub against the A/C Pulley, I hope.

I would love this car in a Stick (manual) trans

If thats the x30xe then I THINK its the same belt as the x25xe looking at the EPC

O.K.

2260mm = 88 inches
1900mm = 75 inches

A little weird because the original belt is 80 1/8  Inches

So I need a .8 x 75 Inch 6 rib belt and I can be Catera Loving again !

If anyone has part numbers I'll try to cross them to their US equivalents .

The Omega Parts/Pricing - WIP guide lists aux belts, but it gives a different number, 93181718 - but probabley the same size

Ah yes, a nice easy one.

Ribbed V belt lengths are 1900mm without aircon and 2260mm with aircon (X25XE and X30XE)

Now, the aircon ribbed V belt length for the 4 pots is 1900mm and fits straight on...and I am sure that some of the Chevvy Cavs were fited with the 1.8/2.0 or 2.2 engine (possibly also some others).

In addition, the Omega uses a pretty standard GM Harrison aircon compressor and most decent aircon specialists will be able to pull the aircon pulley whilst in situ and replace the bearing.

The belt that came the closest was 1904 x 20 mm.

Had to coax it on but it worked.

1 other problem to go , no power when trying to accelerate with more than 15-20% of the pedal and more than 3000 rpm
