historical idle problem..
« on: 12 December 2007, 10:20:33 »

its been long time this idle problem make me crazy.. >:(

how you say..Intermittent..

I have changed nearly all sensors CTS, Lambda,Throttle poten.,Thermostat, camshaft, crankshaft etc.

Also ICV changed..

cleaned breathers and all necessary stuff many times..

De-cat, exhaust system completely changed..

Except MAF and air temperature sensor..

Tried carbon clean also..All help..Car is much much better..

But problem is from time to time when the engine reach normal temperature 92-93 and I stop at the traffic

lights I feel engine is shaky, the RPM needle dont move but I feel engine tremble different than normal..No EML

lights no error codes..

if you open the bonnet you can see engine is working differently..But no cough no misfire..

After it heats up totaly its lost (20-25 minutes of driving) ...

This is more visible in summer now happens very rarely but still disturbing me..

Any ideas welcome..

Could there be any water or dirt in the fuel?

From how I read your post sounds asthough it is missing, have you done you spark plugs and leads?
Before I renewed my plugs and leads I had aslight misfire that hardly showed on the rev Counter...
Hope this helps :y

Did you change your leads when you changed your DIS Pack?

Did you have or do you have oil in your plug wells? This can cause misfires..

If you did have maybe your Leads are damaged and need changing.....

may be it leaks from the EGR blockage..But in that case it must be visible I think..

Mine also has a slight irregularity in idle speed - very slight, not noticable on the rev counter.  I have tried cleaning the ICV but made little difference.  Just live with it now.
