oil in header tank is almost certainly oil cooler - so that's a relief for you :)

The water leak dependant on heater controls is probably the heater bypass valve, located at back of engine. easy enough to change, and a £25 part from the dealership :)

And dont run it................oil mayo is not a good collant and could cause the engine to overheat.

You'll be looking a t £20 ish for the oil cooler cover and something like £300 for all new gaskets, sealing washers, banjop bolts and unions plus the cost of the cooler.

I think there was a recall on coolers....swapping them for stainless items as originals failed.

Might be worth a check to see if it was done or not?

I was robbed by my local stealership for cam cover gaskets, O rings, upper inlet manifold O rings, gaskets, lower inlet manifold gaskets, banjo bolts I needed for the coolant bridge, unions for the oil cooler.

Also the price they charged me for sealent for all that is RTV silicone that you can buy for £2-ish :(

Eh? don't need that either, you supposed to change plenum o-rings but you can easily get away without. I did an oil cooler with GM parts for about £100 all in.

I decided to do the camcovers when the oil cooler cover let go as I had 3.0 cams, polished and modded throttle body, new ht leads and plugs in my garage waiting to go in
