because its a 2.5 and not the later drive by wire engine, you need all the extra gubbins to make it work! not just a stalk

Its still a straight forward job, and could still cost less than doing it on a later engine, as no tech2 is required.

Keep an eye out for Elites/CDX's being broken on eBay for cruise bits  :y

Just done this on my 98 mini facelift MV6.Although straight forward , be prepared for the fact that changing the brake switch can be awkward because of where its located (especially if you've got big hands).Very worthwhie mod though.

Will the parts from a similar aged Vectra fit then??? It's certainly worth the 50 quid most sellers want for the parts I would say!  :y

Yours is a BMW diesel as well, completely different!

Steve, you need the full kit, stalk, cable, ecu etc  :y

what he said

harryomega > i was refering to the 2.5 V6 petrol, not the 2.5 BMW diesel.

You are correct though, the 2.5 diesel is just a new stalk, job done.

Petrols though need more work!

Hi
Will I need just the stalk on mine, or the full kit.
Year 2000 2.5TD manual.

Just the stalk but.....the 2.5TD uses a special stalk which is different to the petrol models.

Mick, you may need a clutch switch, with yours being a manual... however i fitted a cruise stalk to Omegatoys 2.5 TD manual and it worked straight away.
