Hi all.
I took delivery of my 02 DTi Mig today (what a beauty). I put her to bed for the night & i noticed what i thought to be coolant steam & immediately thought there's a problem, but the steam smells slightly of diesel & comes from a small black box just behind the front offside wheel. Is this normal, as iv'e never had experience of this before.
The dealer whom i bought Mig from says it's from the A/C, because i haven't used it & it's cold weather too.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

I think these beasties have an engine preheater of some description that runs from the main fuel tank.  Check your handbook for further details.....

Iv'e refered to my hand book & i can't see any reference to it, but i think you could be right.
If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.

Yup....its the diesel heater......you might want to phone the dealer up and tell them how stupid they are
