[I believe the paperclip test does not show up gearbox faults? I'm in Essex.

Will display Engine ECU codes but it may be that it's something to do with the engine that is causing the box to throw a error.

OK, will do the paperclip test tomorrow. Where can I find a page with the fault codes? Thanks.

OK, done the paperclip test - only getting code 73, which is the air flow sensor I think? What does that mean? Any relation to the gearbox?

I don't think that would cause a gearbox limp...

Well, I'm currently ading 2 litres of ATF through the breather pipe which is taking ages, I know its not the right way to do it but what the hell.

Trouble is, you'll never get level anywhere near close...

Is it leaking then?

No, its not leaking, I just wanted to add some oil and see what happens. Took 4 hours to add 2l through the breather pipe. Haven't test driven it yet but going through the gears no change apparent so far, though it now does take longer for AUTOMATIC GEARBOX to flash up. Will test drive it tomorrow, if its still playing up can anyone recommend a decent cliff to push it off?

To add add to my woes, got a letter from DVLA informing me the tax, which was due to expire 09/08, was in fact invalid as the previous owner's cheque did not cash and after three months of trying to get hold of the bastard without success, have now burdened me with it. I was going to send it back for a refund for the remaining months if no joy with the gearbox but now I have to pay back-dated road tax from 10/07 for a car that has barely been on the road since I bought it in November. More expense on a car I know I should never have bought in the first place, £1200 for the car, £600 for various automatic gearbox solutions that have not worked, £400 on insurance and now frigging road tax - that was my only hope of getting something back from.

Is the box slipping for about 10 - 20s before AUTOMATIC GEARBOX error?

No, it wasn't slipping at all, just always pulled away in 3/4th gear.
