Remote fob

Hi does anyone know how to reprogram a remote fob i purchased off ebay for my 95 Omega 2.5cdx  or is it a job for the main dealer

Only engines available in 1995 where:

2.0 Petrol & 2.0 Diesel

2.5 Petrol & 2.5 BMW Diesel

3.0 Petrol

i have a 96 v6, i assume there the same keyfobs, it tells you how to do it in user manual, because if you press the buttons too many times away from the car it re-sets itself and you have to reprogramme them to the car.

I assume this typr of programming will work with a fob that didnt come with the car, only thing is my user manual is in the car, so unless someone with more knowlege than me (not very hard!) beats me to it, i will post the re programming instructions in the morning, might be worth a try!

A 95 car will be borderline between IR and RF.

Manual states resync procedure for existing RF fobs.

Sorry for the mistake, its a 2.5 v6. There is a red sensor near the sunroof     switch if this is any help

Its RF then.

Actually i think its IR... thats what the sensor is on the sunroof...

I think the IR ones can't be tech2...  :-/

Its IR.

The manual should state how to program iirc.

i dont have sufficient experience of ir ones.  didn't think they needed tech1 to program
