caouldnt find the previous post but just sussed my problem this week,
the plenum chamber in the nearside bulkhead, below the pollen filter,
was awash and the filter bottom one inch wet..front and rear footwells squelching with water. couldnt find a drain to rod, dislodged the rubber collar of the main loom cable, and a gallon gushed out. below that, found a bung in the floor of the chamber, but no evidence of a drain through it. still to wash clean at weekend, and see if there is a drain?
does anyone know in advance, and can one access this from beneath?

yes mate little rubber boot type thing hanging out of inner wing on passenger side !! stick your finger in and prepare to puke !!

If its an early car then yes it appears on the inner wing of the pasenger wheel arch, later cars appear on the front pasenger side chassis member in the engine bay.

VAX it out then do the hole - then flush water through

Up to about 97ish, ones out of wheelarch (and you can get to this from wheelarch), later, stright on to chassis rail (not so easy to get to)!

Easy enough just get you're hand down there from the top and pull the grommet out, or poke you finger up there. Passenger side.
Be prepared to get wet though and it stinks so rubber gloves is a good idea, that chamber must hold around 2 gallons of stinky rain water and sludge built up.
Best to lift all carpets that side and dry out, also remove that rubber matting underneath it, it's like a sponge and soaks up all the water, will stink if left wet.

Certainly a VAX removed Gallons after I drove into a flood & filled all 4 foot-wells
I then did not remove carpets but on every sunny day, left the car with all windows open
Very little smell resulted, a quick spray with upholstery deoderant from Halfords got rid of that & no problems since
I guess a Hairdryer would work but anticipate that you will be there for a considerable time

VERY lucky......seen quite a few Omegas with the 2.5TD hydraulic in floods and bend rods!

At the time (some 10 years ago), a long engine was 4000+vat!
