Torque Setting Please
« on: 20 January 2008, 12:21:45 »

About to change the 'cooling fan thermo-switch' located directly below the top hose, not sure but appears to be leaking fluid, looked in the Haynes 'bible' but as yet not found the torque, any idea's.

It's not going to very much. I can't remember if there's a copper/ally washer between the switch and the rad header, but be carefull as the header is obviously plastic. I'd tighten by hand & then a gnats cock more.  ;D  :y

Cheers, yes there is a copper washer, I got the switch from 'issunaz', he wasn't sure about the washer either, we also agreed the torque would be in the Haynes manual, however I have not found it, he did say how little force was required to unscrew it, so the torque should be low.
