The knock sensor will likely be damaged wiring, rather than sensor, and hence can be repaired :y

Why at the same time tho??? would it not be misreading because the crank sensor is broken? where is the knock sensor located??

There are two knock sensors, one for each bank, and are bolted to each side of the block midway along.
Sensor 1 should be associated with bank 1 (1,3,5) so will be the drivers side. The wire comes up from behind the alternator, around the aux belt tensioner and plugs in at the cable tray. Check that it is free and not trapped all the way from the connector to the sensor and check for damage to the cable outer. It is a screened cable so shorts out if squashed or trapped.
Do check that your EML comes on with ignition and goes out independently of the oil light....the bulb may be blown or missing, or someone may have wired the EML to the oil light to hide a problem.
If the EML is not lit then there are no faults at present (ie right now), there may be codes stored but these will be from faults that were intermittant (in the past).
The 19 tells us that your crank sensor signal is degrading but hasnt actually failed yet so unless you want to get stuck...change it.
If the EML is not coming on during the 'misfire' then I would go for the DIS. Yours should be the early type and E-bay is OK but buy new.

Is there a resistance check I can do on the crank sensor or would it only read from a osilsiscope (waveform)??

Bit confused now, looks like I am going to spend the week collecting parts and fitting them all on saturday! ::)

Just went to remove the crank sensor and its has been replaced at some point before, the wiring has been relocated as per the tech guide on fitting a new one..... and as my EML was not on or has not been on im guessing the fact that a new sensor is on there may mean that my cranks sensor code may be an old one.... :-/

my head hurts :-[

Best thing to do is get the codes cleared and see what comes back.

If you put your location in your profile then there may be someone close by who can reset them for you.

UPDATE>>>>>

I decided to go for a dis pack as my engine check light was not on and the crank sensor has been replace in the past (spotted the new wire location). I fitted it on Saturday.... put it back together and went for a road test.
 :( no different

Went back to VX today they had a crank sensor in stock. Just fitted it, went on the same road test but was back in half the time
8-) at last I can start driving it again!

Thanks once again for everyone’s help, moral of the story, keep a paper clip in your glove box and check for codes regularly and don’t wait for the light to stay on....
