engine management light reset

i have been told if i disconnect battery then reconnect it will reset the eml is this true checked all conection only put in new plugs did unplug cam sensor pluged back in now the light will not go out.same thing happened on last omega but a kind lady decided to drive into the back of it and write it off before i had a chance to fix it

I think that the eml has to be reset with tech2 or after a number of clear starts.

Hope that this helps. By the way how dose the car run.  :question

Hope it's not a daft question, but are you sure you're looking at the EML (orange) and not say the (red) air bag warning light?
EML usually accompanies poor running symptoms.

Disconnecting battery will have no effect on these ECUs.

If the light is on the ecu is not happy about something so it's worth finding out what.

light went out thought that was the end of it but it came on again it keeps coming and going thanks the boy if it keeps doing it i may take you up on your offer

You need to sort why its coming on - if it is emissions related, it may damage cat if left unchecked.  Or it may break down unexpectedly.
