hi can anyone help i have a 51 plate 2.6 v6 cdx saloon every thing is great except the rev counter it is reading as high as it goes and does not drop back down even when i turn the engine off it does sometimes flicker any ideas :( :-/

Have you tried pushing the actual dash inbetween the speedo and the rv counter to make sure its making a good connection??

Anyone near you willing to 'swap the dash' over to prove that it is the dash thats faulty.  It will have to be a dash from same era.

Or get a tech2 on it, and see if rev counter responds properly to commands
