Knocking from front suspension
« on: 27 January 2008, 14:32:07 »

My TD has a knocking from the front suspension, i've jacked it up and it appears to be the main steering bar (not sure what this is called correctly but its the bar that goes between the two track rods) i can rock it backwards and forwards and it clunks.  I'm guessing that it could be wear in the ball joints at either end of this bar.  Any other ideas? what ball joints would i need to ask for?

Many Thanks

Alistair

Thanks for that, can the ball joints on the centre tie rod be replaced or does the whole rod need changing?  is it common for these to wear?

Regards
