It will need reprogramming with Tech II if you replace it. The best option is to send the original unit off to somewhere like here http://www.bba-reman.com/catalogue/Products.aspx?category=223 then it won't need any tech II work

I think it will need programming when you get it.

In my experience, it will work regardless, but only for ABS, not TC - light will be on until tech2 reconfigures, as its 2nd hand, all may appear fine, my unit was brand new. hence having no program on it.
They need to know engine size and transmission type.
Mine also caused the car to stall when idling and cold for about 2 mins of every trip.

no.

on the body of it somewhere will be the bosch number, depends on which one it was depends on where the number is.

at the risk of sounding patronising i would have mine reconned, if it packs up after 3 months then you have to spend another £70 and then mess around with replacing it again.

recently we have seen a lot of these fail, there have been a lot of people posting on here about them, i would reckon at least a dozen since this time last year.

Mine failed, fortunatly i had a warrantly, the bill was close to £500  :o
