Courtney's do turbos but not sure on superchargers. turboing a V6 would be tight unless you go a big single turbo at the front of the engine bay.

supercharger would be better but you need to know what type you want. i'm looking at a Rotex unit at the moment for the V6 that i'm putting into my manta.

the main reason being that i'm doing away with the PAS & Ac so i'll have space on that side of the engine

Get a copy of this months Practical Performance Cars mag as they doing a feature on blowers.

there is alot to know on the subject of blower so its not just a case of bolt on, instant power, as a rule of thumb if you run more that 7psi boost on a standard engine it will melt down

cheers

If you wanna go down the turbo route, speak to my mate Adam at Turbo Developments, tell him Tricky sent you, then give him a load of abuse!

Obviously, going S/C you have the advantage of a linear power delivery. The turbo will be more fun. I'd go - and am actually thinking about doing it, a big single blower. mount it at the front, behind the rad. You'd need something decent, will well spec'd housings. A large rear end to stop the whole lot choking up and a decent compressor wheel.

I'm sure i remember reading somewhere that you can only run 'gay boost' on the MV6, as an oil/water gallery is very thin on no.3? Not sure on that, my memory's not good.

Another thing would be controlling the fueling and spark. A standalone ECU would be preferable - How is the O.E unit for hacking? Anyone make a piggy back ECU for it?

Forced Induction is my rootes, I hill climb a Renault5 GT Turbo...

Heres some food for thought.

The 3.0 V6 turbo fitted in the Saab is a good source of slightly stronger rods etc and is slightly lower compression (the standard V6 is a bit to high a compression ration at 10.5:1 to blow).

The bottom end os strong but, you might onsider a stud kit to tighten things up further.

Cooling can be an issue but, this can be resolved by altering the coolant passages slightly.

In theory, fitting 3.0 heads on a 2.5 would give you a compression ratio of 9.26:1 which gives a lot of scope for boost.....fit 3.2 heads and in theory you could get as low as 8:1!
