Drivers door creak...
« on: 08 February 2008, 00:32:33 »

Recently just started to happen, go over a bump in the road and the drivers front door creaks...  Sounds like its loose  :-?

Any suggestions??  I know meegas usually creak now and then when cornering and such, but this is a bit louder and different.

Buggered door pinions??

Could be that the rubber seal has collapsed slightly and the lock plate needs moving slightly to compensate, fiddly to get exactly right.

Try a small smear of silicone lubricant on the rubber to see if the creak stops.

Ah - I had this for weeks, was driving me mad, I looked everywhere. I finally stopped it when I smeared a little grease (I guess vaseline would also do) on the 'U' shaped bracket on the door pillar that the door cath latches onto. Suddenly everything went quiet - saved my sanity i'll tell you. Just need to make sure its not too liberal else you'll have it on your clothes as you get in and out.

Hope this sorts yours as well
cheers pat
