Help needed from some nice people!!
« on: 09 February 2008, 12:32:10 »

Please could someone help i have a 95 3.0 elite and the previous owner lost the fey fob.  Any ideas what sort of fob it would have come with.  I have read the manuel with regards to coding but it did not say what one i needed. Also is the indicator/cruise control stalk capable of being stripped down and cleaned, Mine has decided to only indicate about 60% of the time but cruise control works perfectly. Thanks for any help you can provide

Lend him your indicator stalk as a test!  ;) You're only minutes away from each other.   ;D  ;D
Make sure it's not late at night & you both have fuel though. I'd to go to Pompey for my diesel last Monday! No where was open at 23:30  :-?

Turn the hazards on and off 20 times.....as the switch is central to indicator operation and this may well be the cause.

It probably is possible to strip down the indicator stalk and clean it but it's certainly not easy and requires a large amount of manual dexterity and patience!

My son's indicators played up last year on his Vectra and I got him a cheap replacement off ebay but I decided to strip the old stalk to repair and keep as a spare.

After carefully prising it apart springs and contacts went everywhere, I have spent all my working life repairing just about everything I can but after several aborted attempts to reassemble the wretched thing it ended up in the bin still in bits.

However if you get competely stuffed contact me (I am in Bognor - not too far from you) I have a new spare indicator stalk without the cruise control buttons that you could fit to test the indicator function.

regarding the fob, on a car of that age I believe they used infra-red remote so I think there should be some sort of receiver (like a little dome) on the sunroof control for it?
