Cabin heat has been restored
« on: 11 February 2008, 13:27:36 »

Still couldn't get the hoses off the matrix pipes, they twist but they won't come off so undid the hose to the HBV instead, forced water into the matrix via hosepipe and out the other side of the HBV via the rest of the system... Jobs a goodun.
Tested thoroughly and now hot air blows inside...

I reckon it was blocked, i put mains pressure water through it and it ran clear. Then i refilled the system and left the cap off while it burped...

Prior to this i must have emptied and refilled it five or six times so i don't think it can have been an airlock

Excellent, nice easy fix that one!

Is this the car with the previous headgasket issues?

I wonder of teh system got clogged up as a result, still the flushes you ahev done will help no end with engine cooling and reliability.

The very same... I suspect the first HG change was done on the cheap, they flushed as much radweld through it as they could to try and bung it up, they were the same guys that used double glazing sealant on the cam cover rather than clean the breathers....
