warning if not fitting genuine struts
« on: 13 February 2008, 17:07:40 »

We have just finished  fitting struts wishbones etc took it to have full 4 wheel alignment found a clearance issue when adjusting the camber, the tyre walls are too close to the struts about 3mm on one side when I got home I checked size of struts compared originals the tube is 6mm bigger does any one know if i would get away with 3mm wheel spacers don't like the idea but I would like more clearance tyres are 225/55/16s. Anyway it's just a word of warning. Drives nice now though straight as a die.  Though we paid far too much for geometry set up in my opinion....£48 for machine to be turned on...then by the hour...they used two men to do job so it was £120 in the end!!!!

no we watched them..they did both work on the car...it took them less than half an hour after they had taken the initial readings...i am thinking of retraining......not a bad hourly rate is it!!!
More a case of one scratched his head the other scratched his ar*e!
