Approximate Price Guide Please
« on: 15 February 2008, 14:27:30 »

Hi
I am selling my 3.0 Elite next month and would love to know how much I should get for it.
It is a 1999 Elite with MOT til December. It has all the usual extras, leather, xenons, cruise, climate, elec seats, elec windows x4,heated seats, rear blind, self dip rear view, Bose sound, Sat Nav with 2006 disk, 144k on the clock.
Couple of niggles, tiny leak from rocker cover only loses a few drips a month, apparantly this is common. Drivers seat doesn't heat up. Bulb is out in dash.

So what do ya reckon I need a few ideas from the experts but whatever you say I will probably sell for in the for sale section shortly.

Thanks JimBob, Im sure that one has less than 144,000 on it and it probably doesn't have an oil drip either.  ;)

I'm afraid reality is that Omegas are just not worth much now.  Prices have plummeted further since Christmas, possible due to fuel prices.

Prefacelift saloons, probably top out at £1500 for petrol models - at least 9yrs old, likely to be 100k miles.

Facelifts, as newer, are worth a little more.

Estates command a premium, as do tractor engines.

So would the oil drip and heated seat issues drop it a huge amount?
I would love to get about £1000 for her.

Heated seat failure not uncommon (though not easy fix), and shouldn't drastically affect price (it is bargain basement car at end of day).

Cam cover leak may make selling it more difficult.

Whether or not you'll get a gran depends entirely on condition.

Prices seem to be suffering at the moment, probably because of the price of petrol but I think £1000 is realistic. I have just bought a tidy 1998 MV6 with long MOT, recent cambelt change, leather, good wheels and new tyres for £500.
