24 new valves wot a job

got a 2.5 24v 1999 auto box omega.took a chance picked it up as a none runner but in mint condition, with a broken cam belt, we now have 24 new valves ,belt kit, head set,etc,fitted, and it started up today,slight oil leak on front will try to find that tommorow, my orange dash engine light is staying on ? and nr the bulk head i have a thick black strong flat multi block connection  3or 4 pin left over cant find where it goes.there is another one idetical and i have that one connected any help please

Do a search for the paper clip test, that'll at least point you in the right direction of what's upsetting your car. That will probably lead to where your spare multi-pin plug should go.

Sounds like the remains of an old crank sensor.

Read the codes to determine wheat the ECU doesn't like.

As for the head re-build, points to note from experience:

The non-gen head kits contain a few gaskets etc that should go straight in the bin as they are crap:

Cam cover gaskets
Cam seals (50% of them will leak, your better off re-suing the old ones!)
Exhaust manifold gaskets (composite ones so leak quickly, gen are multi layer metal)
All inlet gaskets (poor quality and deform badly, re-use the old ones)

Did you check and replace any valve guides as they often get cracked when the valves get bent?
