No Brainer
« on: 19 February 2008, 10:53:08 »

Having had this 1996 2.0 estate GL for a year now I posted an item regarding her being sluggish and difficult to start. I was advised to do a paper clip test, which I did. I then looked up the fault code on Topbuzz. I noticed that this car should be fitted with a Simtek 56.0/56.1 unit. I am getting a reading  (Namely a fault code of 0340) which is for a Simtek 56.5. This unit seems to fit Vectra 2.0L. Can someone please tell me whether VX fitted this module to some Omega's or has some berk fitted the wrong module before mugging me off. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I transplant a Moggie engine in her.  :-[

Thanks for your reply....looks like I might have a faulty cam sensor which is what the code is for, however it is brand new, but spose it could be faulty...cheers

Was it a genuine sensor???
Did you/they replace part of the loom for it as well, as they have been modified slightly.

To be honest I don't think it was a genuine part...I am confused as to whether the ECU is the right one. But reading on here about someone else with a simular problem they seem to have the same ECU.
